It sits above everything
The pack appeared on 98% of the 236 local searches we measured and takes the top of the screen. For a pressure washing company it is the most valuable position on the page, and it is drawn from profiles rather than websites.
A map pack appeared on 98% of the local searches we measured, sitting above every organic result. It is ranked on your Google Business Profile, not your website — which is why a rebuild alone never moves it. We manage the profile that puts your pressure washing company in those three results.
The pack appeared on 98% of the 236 local searches we measured and takes the top of the screen. For a pressure washing company it is the most valuable position on the page, and it is drawn from profiles rather than websites.
Split the businesses we studied into four by review count and pack membership climbs 7%, 13%, 27%, 57% — the steepest gradient anywhere in our data. Organic position, by contrast, barely moves with review count.
Pressure washing is the most visual trade we serve and the lowest ticket, which means the profile has to sell on photographs rather than on consultation.
"Pressure Washing Service" as the primary category plus the secondary ones that match what you actually sell. This is the single biggest lever on which searches you appear for at all.
Every service you offer, written out, so the profile can match the specific thing somebody typed rather than only the generic trade term.
Real job photography added on a schedule rather than once at setup. Profiles with current photo sets hold position better and convert the view into a call.
Steady review requests and a reply to every review. Only 25% of businesses in our study answered all of theirs, and 56% of one- and two-star reviews had no reply at all.
Regular posts and a seeded Q&A section, so the profile looks actively managed — which is what Google is measuring when it decides the pack.
Accurate service areas and hours, including the emergency availability that decides the call when somebody has just noticed how green the driveway has gone.
Each of these returns three map results before any website. Your profile decides whether your pressure washing company is one of them.
Before we touch your profile, here is what we measured about the pack across pressure washing companies and the wider contractor market.
49% had no LocalBusiness schema — the one format built for stating what a business does and where. A further quarter had structured data a plugin added for them, which describes the website and says nothing about the business.
16% carried not a single line of JSON-LD. To an AI answer engine deciding who to name for a trade in a city, those businesses are prose to be guessed at rather than a record to be read.
64% have no real service-and-location architecture, and half have not a single page aimed at a town. The search a homeowner actually types — the trade plus the place — has nothing on their site pointed at it.
37% of the sites we read reused one title across several pages. That asks Google to choose between pages all claiming to be the same thing. It usually picks the home page, and the service pages never surface.
34% had at least one page with no H1 at all. Small on its own, and a reliable sign that nobody has looked at the page the way a search engine does.
18% had no sitemap, and a third of the businesses we pulled from public listings served nothing we could read — parked, blocked, timed out or simply gone. Every citation pointing there is a dead end, and the owner almost certainly does not know.
Local Services Ads sit above even the map pack and charge per lead rather than per click. For pressure washing companies with an average job around $450, they are often the cheapest paid route in — we manage them alongside the profile.

The same checks we ran across 500 US contractor websites, run against yours: whether Google can read your pages, whether your services and service areas each have one, and what your profile looks like beside the companies already ranking.
Schema, titles, headings, speed, the sitemap. None of it is glamorous and all of it is cheap compared with what it unlocks. There is no point building content on a site Google cannot read.
A page for each service and each town you can genuinely evidence — not one page per town with the name swapped, which is the thing Google has spent years learning to ignore.
Your Google Business Profile does more for map rankings than anything on your website. It needs photos, posts and a steady flow of reviews, every month, not once at setup.
Most agencies in this trade will not put a number on a page. We would rather you knew now than spent a call finding out. The website build is free in every plan — no setup fee, no build fee — and you own it from the day it goes live.
Profile management runs inside a monthly Local Leader package alongside the site and the rankings, because the pack and the organic results feed each other and splitting them wastes both.
The complete system, for companies that intend to lead the market rather than appear in it. $1,199/mo billed yearly.
Franchises and operations running five or more locations. From $4,799/mo billed yearly.
No long contracts and no setup fees. If you leave you keep the website, the domain, the Google Business Profile and the analytics — ask every agency you speak to for that in writing. See what is in each plan.
Profile changes can show within days, but position usually takes 1–3 months to settle and continues improving as reviews accumulate. It is normally the fastest-moving part of local SEO, which is why we start there.
Because it sits above it. A map pack appeared on 98% of the local searches we measured, taking the top of the screen before any organic result. A website rebuild does not touch the inputs it is ranked on.
There is no threshold, but the gradient is steep: across review-count quartiles in our study, pack membership ran 7%, 13%, 27% and 57%. More matters, and so does replying to all of them — only 25% of businesses did.
No, and nobody can. Pack position is heavily tied to where the searcher is standing, which no amount of optimization changes. What we can do is make sure every input you control is right, which is more than most pressure washing companies have done.
Not necessarily. Most pressure washing companies operate as a service-area business, which hides the address and ranks against the areas you serve. Setting this up correctly matters more than most people realise.
We audit for both at the start. Duplicates split your reviews and your ranking signals, and a suspension left unresolved means you are invisible in the pack regardless of anything else.
Yes. Profile management runs alongside the website, the rankings and the reviews in one monthly package — see packages.
