Who we are
Local Leader is a marketing agency working with local trade contractors in the United States. This policy covers localleader.ai and the forms on it. If you are a client, the separate agreement we signed with you governs work we do on your own website and accounts.
What you send us
Our two forms — the free website application and the contact form — ask for the details we need in order to reply and to judge whether we are a fit for your business:
- Your name and business name
- Email address and phone number
- Your website address, if you have one
- Your trade and the area you serve
- Which package you are interested in, and an indication of your current monthly turnover
- Anything you choose to write in the message box
You choose what to put in these fields. Only the contact details are genuinely needed — without them we have no way to answer you.
What we record automatically
When you submit a form, we also record how you arrived:
- Campaign tags in the link you clicked (
utm_source,utm_medium,utm_campaignand similar) - Advertising click identifiers, where present, such as
gclidfrom Google andfbclidfrom Meta - The page you first landed on, and the site that referred you
This is attribution, not profiling. It tells us that a form submission came from, say, a search ad rather than a referral. It is attached to your submission and used for nothing else.
Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to build any profile of you.
Why we use it
- To reply to you. This is the whole reason the forms exist.
- To prepare for a conversation. Your trade, service area and website let us arrive with something useful to say.
- To understand our own marketing. Knowing which channels produce real enquiries is how we decide where to spend.
- To keep the site working and free of abuse.
Where the law requires a legal basis, ours is your consent when you submit a form, and our legitimate interest in running and improving our own business.
Who else can see it
We do not sell your information, rent it, or hand it to advertisers. A small number of service providers process it on our behalf, and only to deliver this site:
- Vercel — hosts this website and our internal systems, and keeps the server logs described above.
- Neon — provides the database where enquiries are stored.
- Forminit — receives a duplicate copy of free website applications as a backup, so an enquiry is not lost if one system fails. Their service also records the IP address, approximate location, browser and referrer of a submission.
These providers may store data in the United States or elsewhere. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Cookies and browser storage
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. There is nothing to opt out of, which is why you will not find a cookie banner.
We do use your browser's sessionStorage to remember how you arrived, so that if you read a few pages before filling in a form, the enquiry is still credited to the right source. It holds only the campaign tags and referrer described above, it is readable only by this site, and your browser discards it when you close the tab.
Google Search Console
Our internal dashboard connects to Google Search Console to read performance data for our own website, using read-only access granted by us, to our own property. It reads aggregate search statistics — queries, impressions, clicks and positions for localleader.ai.
This connection involves no data belonging to visitors of this site, grants us no access to anybody else's Google account, and cannot change anything in Search Console. Information received from Google APIs is used only to operate that dashboard, and is handled in accordance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as there is a realistic prospect of working together, and for as long afterwards as we need them for our business records. If you ask us to delete your details, we will, unless we are legally required to keep them.
Your rights
Whatever your location, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, to receive a copy of your data in a portable form, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information for advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, so there is nothing for you to opt out of.
We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
Children
This site is aimed at business owners. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Security
Enquiries are transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored in access-controlled systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but we keep the number of places your details exist deliberately small.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be described here rather than slipped in quietly.
How to reach us
For any privacy question, or to ask us to access, correct or delete what we hold about you, use the contact form and say what you need. We will respond within the time our obligations allow, and usually a good deal sooner.
